All Eyes on Glaucoma™ is an educational campaign developed to increase public awareness of risk factors for glaucoma and the critical importance of appropriate diagnosis of at-risk populations. This global initiative is sponsored by Pfizer Ophthalmics to educate people over age 40 on how to preserve their vision and recognize their risk of developing glaucoma.

Glaucoma is the world’s leading cause of preventable blindness and affects approximately 70 million people worldwide. However, many people do not understand the consequences of glaucoma and that the impact of the disease can be significantly reduced if action is taken. The All Eyes on Glaucoma™ campaign provides people with key information about the disease, aims to raise the awareness level among at-risk populations, and empowers them to take ownership of their eye health.

Elements of the All Eyes on Glaucoma™ Campaign

  • Global glaucoma survey
    • A multi-country survey assessing knowledge of glaucoma and its risk factors
    • Investigates people’s attitudes and behavior towards eye care
    • Highlights the low priority of and lack of understanding about glaucoma
  • Information for the media
    • Provides journalists around the world with statistics and background information about glaucoma
    • Enables the media to provide the public with more in-depth reports on glaucoma
  • Global Web site
    • Provides access to clear advice helping people identify whether they are at risk of developing the condition, and tips on protecting their vision
    • Provides tools to help people address concerns about glaucoma with their eye specialist
