Understanding the Undiagnosed
Glaucoma often remains untreated due to low public awareness of the disease; approximately 50% of glaucoma sufferers are unaware that they have the disease. Population studies support this finding, suggesting that over half of all glaucoma cases have not been diagnosed.

Information about current techniques, such as perimetry, tonometry and optic disc photography, that are available to aid diagnosis of glaucoma and monitoring of disease progression, can be found here.
Combining these techniques with newer imaging technologies allows both structural features and risk factors to be considered in the diagnostic and therapeutic decision process.
